La Luz, Christian, and I went to mom-mom's for a farewell dinner of sorts with Toita. It is hard to believe that we might not see her again for two or three years. The time she was here went by way too fast and it makes me sad to think she is leaving. We are all going to miss her terribly, especially La Luz.

Christian took Toita on a tour of the 9th Ward and Lakeview with mom and La Luz while I was at work. After an evening touring the devastation everyone was a bit somber. Apparently, things still look pretty bad - though Christian said the musician's village looks great. I will have to check it out.

Tonight I gave La Luz a bath at mom-mom's. She has been protesting bath time vehemently for the past few days so I thought the change of scene might do some good. I think she enjoyed it.

I have a hearing early tomorrow morning in Covington and I am pretty much hoarse right now so I am not exactly sure how that is going to work out. It is also supposed to rain, bad. In fact, when I mentioned to mom that I had to go to the Northshore in the morning she told me that I couldn't, that the rain was expected to be terrible, and that I would simply have to miss the hearing. I asked her if she would call the Judge and get permission. It is funny and heartwarming that my mom still worries about those sorts of things.

Tomorrow night Nana, Papa-T, Marty, Sue, and Liam arrive for the weekend. We have been preparing La Luz for Liam's arrival and she has agreed to allow Liam to play with one thing - Diego. It is going to be an interesting weekend.

Aunt linda says....good luck with the sharing thing. It's not just Lucy Delaney is going through it too. She and her cousin Tyler battled it out so bad over "Dee's toys" the other day that my niece "whom was visiting stacey" couldn't take it anymore and had to leave. It will get better,it's just the age.Hang in there....hehehehehe.

I love that your mom didn't want you to go to your hearing b/c of the rain -- sounds EXACTLY like something my mom would say, and if she was freaked out enough by the weather, she just might call the judge.

Don't worry, Jules, my mom still asks me who is driving when we go on a trip, or even out to the airport. Then she says "Oh, good" when I tell her Dan is. And don't even get me started on the weather. She used to call me in NH (from LA) and tell me when it was going to snow! They just want us to stay safe.
Have a great weekend

Hey guys, Moms have kind of a 6th sense about the weather and today I was proven right! Weather dominated the TV stations ALL afternoon long, even preventing me from the week's finale of "Days of our Lives."
The radar maps were filled with threatening and frightening shades of reds and yellows especially north of the lake.
One day you will know how lovely it is to hear the words "I made it!"
