En Garde

We had another weekend of perfect weather here. It started on Friday evening playing in the front yard, enjoying a few hours of sunlight before an early dinner with Pop at Frankie and Johnny's.

Saturday was St. Patrick's Day so Christian, La Luz, and I headed to Jessie and Beau's house in the Irish Channel to celebrate. La Luz got to hang out with all of her friends and tear up Jessie's living room. I can only imagine what they were thinking later that night when they were trying to clean up. La Luz wasted so much energy running around that she crashed before the parade even started. After a brief nap she spent the remainder of the day playing with a truck I bought her at the Children's Clothing Exchange for $10. It was money very well-spent because I think she would have slept on it if I let her, like a true trucker never leaving the rig.

On Sunday morning, after watching CBS Sunday Morning and a bit of the Food Network, La Luz and I headed to the Hilton to watch Uncle Richmond fence. I admit, I was skepitcal at first, but it was totally entertaining. We made it time to watch one of Richmond's matches and although La Luz was initially completely freaked out by the whole get up she eventually acclimated and even started playing with all of Richmond's gear.

My friend's from my UGA day, Shon and Shelley, were in town with their 2 little girls and we spent the afternoon visiting with them and Shelley's family on the front porch. It was nice to catch up, enjoy the beautiful weather, and watch La Luz exercise control over EVERYTHING. She can be very charming. We drank some of the Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager and it was delicious! Although La Luz is still no good at sharing with other kids, she loved having company and was even sad later on when she realized that Fia (Sophia) and Olivia were gone. Pop and Richmond came over for dinner and by that point La Luz was bouncing off the walls. By 8:00 she was comatose.

Mom-mom called and sent some emails over the weekend. She is having a great time in South Africa. She returns on Friday and I hope that La Luz does not flip out before then - I feel like she is on the verge - like she thinks I am intentionally keeping her from mom-mom as part of some manipulative scheme. Fortunately, the Aunties are taking care of her all week and she will be distracted. I can't imagine what I would do without them!

Hey!! Happy St Patrick`s! Hope you also had a nice Guinness...Here was kind of slow, because of the rain..so I decided to enjoy one inside, at a friend`s house---Not THAT fun of the "irish weather". I can`t believe that we have "el zorro" in the family!! I didn`t know that side of Richmond! hahaha! Sounds fun though...
Glad to hear that Cathie is doing well and having some fun...we all miss her...
Take care my friend....
